Two thousand and nineteen, the 19th year of Extra Virgin Olive Oil Savantes, will be celebrated with two major events. They will be the beginning of a new era in which Savantes and Associate Savantes will have a platform to make their views known and continue learning more about varietals and uses of extra virgin olive oils.
Remainder of 2018
In the lead up to these momentous events there are three opportunities to experience the Savantes Tasting Philosophy and learn much more about every aspect of the olive oil industry.
These are the last opportunities to achieve Savante or Associate Savante recognition and join the invitation list to the Savantes Conference in March 2019.
The Olive Oil Conference Chicago USA 10-12 July
North American Tasting Championship Chicago - 12 July
Two days of high level discussion of olive oil trade, nutrition benefits and promotion.

Savantes Madrid, Spain – 5 - 6 September Savantes Review and Recognition, Madrid – 7 September
In central Madrid. A great opportunity to expand knowledge of flavour, markets and achieve Savante or Associate Savante recognition. To register go to www.savantes.org
Savantes Melbourne, Australia – 21 - 22 November Savantes Review and Recognition, Melbourne – 23 November
The annual Savantes programme in Melbourne bringing new olive oils and ideas to the Australian and New Zealand scene. Generally fully subscribed, so register early at www.savantes.org
And in 2019
Savante and Associate Savante Conference and Cuisine
The first event planned for 25-30th March 2019 will comprise two days of cooking instruction and innovation, followed by two days tasting varietals and presentation of topical papers by Savantes and Associates. Following this, a two-day invitation only forum is planned to review the industry and recommend initiatives for the future.
The events will only be open to Associate Savantes and Savantes and numbers will be limited.
The venue for the event will probably be the Lainston House Hotel and Season cooking school near Winchester in England.

World Tasting Team Championship
The second event is the World Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasting Team Championship which is being planned for early September 2019. Teams of 3 tasters will be invited to participate in this inaugural event. Invitations will be directed through the organisers of existing national events in Spain, France and the USA and through Savantes and Associate Savantes in other producing and consuming countries. It is likely that the event will be held in Spain.
